PRP Therapy for Skin & Hair

A regenerative treatment that supports skin repair and hair health – guided responsibly and tailored to

individual needs.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is an autologous treatment - meaning it uses components derived from your own blood - to support natural repair and rejuvenation processes. The treatment involves concentrating platelets and growth factors from a small blood sample and applying them to targeted areas of the skin or scalp.

PRP has gained substantial scientific backing in recent years, with clinical studies demonstrating benefits for both hair restoration and skin rejuvenation. At ZARS, PRP is offered thoughtfully - only when it aligns with the individual’s concern and is likely to provide meaningful benefit.

WHO IT MAY SUIT

PRP therapy may be suitable for individuals experiencing hair thinning or early-stage hair loss, those wanting to improve skin texture and quality, people looking for minimally invasive options for rejuvenation, individuals with acne scarring seeking improvement, or those comfortable with a gradual, natural approach to improvement.

PRP is particularly well-supported by evidence for androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss) in both men and women, and for skin rejuvenation including improvement in texture, pore size, and fine lines.

HOW IT’S APPROACHED AT ZARS

At ZARS, PRP is recommended selectively – not as a one-size-fits-all solution. Treatment planning considers the individual’s specific concern, medical history, and expected response.

Protocols are conservative, and expectations are discussed clearly before treatment begins. The PRP preparation process follows standardised protocols to ensure optimal platelet concentration.

For hair concerns, PRP may be combined with medical therapy (such as minoxidil or nutritional support) for enhanced outcomes. For skin rejuvenation, PRP may be combined with microneedling for improved absorption and results.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before: A consultation to discuss your concerns and assess suitability. You should be well-hydrated and have eaten before the procedure.

During: A small blood sample is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma. The PRP is then injected or applied to the target area. The procedure typically takes 45–60 minutes.

After: Mild redness, tenderness, or swelling at the treatment site is normal and usually resolves within 1–2 days. You can return to most activities immediately.

RESULTS & EXPECTATIONS

PRP supports gradual improvement over multiple sessions. For hair concerns, improvements in density and shedding reduction may become noticeable after 3–6 months.

For skin, improvements in texture and tone develop progressively. Results vary based on individual condition and response.

PRP is not a quick fix, and maintenance sessions are typically recommended to sustain benefits.
