Overview
Understanding Botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin is one of the most studied aesthetic treatments in medicine. With decades of safety data and a track record across both medical and cosmetic applications. It works by temporarily relaxing overactive facial muscles that cause expression lines, resulting in smoother skin and a refreshed appearance. OUR APPROACH
How We Treat at ZARS
Every session begins with a detailed facial assessment. Mapping muscle movement, skin quality, and your specific concerns. Botox at Zars is never template-based. Injection points, dosage, and technique are tailored to your facial anatomy and the outcome you want.
We use only licensed, authenticated botulinum toxin products. Placement precision matters enormously; a few millimetres in the wrong direction can affect the result which is why this is strictly a physician-administered procedure at Zars.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Treatment Journey
BEFORE
Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) and alcohol for 24-48 hours prior. Come with a clean face. No special prep required beyond this.
DURING
A series of small, precise injections using an ultra-fine needle. Most patients find it very tolerable. The sensation is a brief, mild sting at each point. The procedure takes 15-20 minutes.
AFTER
Remain upright for 4 hours post-treatment. Avoid touching, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated area for 24 hours. Skip strenuous exercise, heat exposure (saunas, steam), and alcohol for 24 hours. Mild redness or pinpoint swelling at injection sites is normal and resolves within hours.
RESULTS
What You Can Achieve
The full effect is visible after 2 weeks. A review appointment at this point ensures the result is balanced and any touch-up, if needed, is addressed. With regular treatment, less product is needed to maintain the same result.
FAQS
Common Questions
Will Botox make my face look unnatural?
Not when done correctly. The goal is to soften movement, not eliminate it — results should look rested, never frozen.
Is Botox safe?
Most patients experience only mild discomfort, as a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. It is usually described as a light vibrating or prickling sensatYes. Botulinum toxin has decades of clinical safety data and is one of the most widely studied aesthetic treatments in medicine when administered by a qualified physician.ion.
How long do results last?
Typically 3-4 months for facial areas, and up to 6-9 months for hyperhidrosis. With regular treatment, results tend to last longer over time.
Is the procedure painful?
Discomfort is minimal. A fine needle is used, and most patients describe it as a brief, mild sting when no anaesthesia is used. However, if the patient wants the procedure completely painless then we can apply numbing cream and keep it for 45-60 mins. With this, the procedure is completely painless.
At what age should I consider Botox?
There is no strict age requirement. It can be used preventatively for early dynamic lines or to soften established wrinkles. Suitability is assessed individually.
